Thing 1: I don't think I've put this on here yet, but for a while now,
Ben will tell me (usually before bedtime), "I love you to the moon and
back!" I will say back, "I love YOU to the moon and back" and every
time, without fail, he will say, "Thank you!"
Thing 2: Tonight after church, I was talking to someone next to our
car in the parking lot for a while. Ben said, "I want to ride in
coach." He was wearing a shirt that said "Coach" on the back, so I
thought he may just have that on his mind. I said something like,
"Mommy coaches basketball and your shirt says coach." Then, he said,
"No, I want to ride in coach!" I thought for a minute and then it hit
me. I often say, "Vamonos! a la coche!" when it's time to leave our
house and get into the car. I asked him if that's what he meant and
he smiled and said, "yes!" Such a sponge.
Thing 3: For a couple of years, Drew has loved Alvin and the
Chipmunks, but he would sing the song, "We're the chipmunks, Almin,
Sindem, Theodore!" It was the cutest thing. Tonight at Publix, he saw
a Chipmunks movie DVD and he said, "Look, Mommy, it's Alvin, Simon,
and Theodore." He's growing up. No more chipmunk cuteness.
Thing 4: Drew cried until the teacher brought him out of gymnastics
last week because he was scared of getting hurt on the "cheese mat"
(the triangle wedge mat). Then, he fell asleep shortly before time to
leave for his t-ball game on Monday night and had the biggest
imaginable meltdown when we woke him up. Chris had to hold him down
so I could get his uniform on and then he refused to play. We could
tell it was really upsetting not to be playing because when it was our
team's turn to hit, he turned and looked the other way for almost the
entire inning. I'm getting the inkling based on what he said today
that he doesn't like the crowd there watching. He said he wished
every t-ball day was a practice. I told him that if he keeps
improving, with his natural talents, that many more people would watch
him play baseball someday.
