Our Newest Reader
I can't say enough about how great this guy has done with his reading. He's not scared of big words and not easily frustrated. He read words like spaghetti, exercise, and important. These words were not easy, but he read 30 stacks of 10 words and placed a sticker each time he finished one.
And now, as promised, Jake gets to have a party to celebrate his work tonight. We are going to the store to pick out a cake or cupcakes and ice cream and we are going to have popcorn and watch a movie.
SO proud of this guy!!

Another funny from Jake
Me: Can you believe Disney World opened 47 years ago? That was before I was even in Grandmama's tummy. It was even before Dad was in Gram's tummy!
Jake: WHAT? Dad was in Gram's tummy?
Me: Well yes - whose tummy did you think Dad was in?
Jake: Granddad's.
Me: No, Dad was in Gram's tummy.
Jake: So he really wasn't in Grandded's tummy?
Me: No, boys can't have babies in their tummies.
Jake: (extended silence as he is in deep thought)

Jake’s 4 year check-up stats
He's in the 90th percentile in height! I think they said around 60th% in weight. His eyes checked out great which was a big relief because this is about when they found Ben's problem.

Drew the Gentleman
We were at Epcot and the kids had all just received free icees to celebrate Jake's upcoming birthday. While they were sitting and drinking, I was just standing there (I guess I'm used to standing after a week at disney). I then went over to sit on the next bench, saw it was wet, and decided to keep standing. Drew got up and went to sit on the wet bench. He hesitated, shrugged his shoulders and then sat down. Then, he slowly slid himself over through more water until a seat next to him was dry and called me over to sit down next to him. He literally soaked his bottom so I would have a dry place to sit. I told him that it was probably the sweetest thing he had ever done for me!

MaMa going to heaven
Jake just asked me if someone had to eat MaMa so she could go to heaven. We said, "Why, Jake?" And he said "because God loves in our hearts!"

Another Funny Jake Moment
I sent Jake to the bathroom before bed and he came back to me and said, "Mommy, can you roll me down?"...at least that's what I heard.
I asked a couple more questions and then he said, "Mommy, I'm cold. Can you roll me down?" From that, I figured out that he was trying to say 'can you warm me down' which then led me to realize that what he meant was he wanted me to warm him up because he was cold.
Whew - case solved.

Kate’s Championship
Kate played in the Catholic Metro league for Saint John Neumann and they were undefeated in the regular season. They won the finals of the tournament by forfeit, but they beat the team they would have played earlier in the season anyway. Kate outscored the other team most games even though she involved all her teammates and made the pass rather than shooting whenever someone else was open. She had many double doubles and at least one triple double.

Jake-ism
Jake was doing a puzzle with me and then he laid down on his stomach with his arms out. He said, "my arms are glumpy". After he said that several times, he asked what that meant for his arms to be glumpy. I finally figured out that he was trying to say his arms were comfy.
