The dangers of learning science

We've been learning about insects, so the kids decided to pretend they are the ants in the colony.  Kate just came in the kitchen and said, "Mommy, Dylan is dead.  He was a drone and we mated, so he died."  We haven't covered exactly what mating means, so I'm not sure what they did to "mate", but what an interesting statement!

The end of the basketball season

Which is always weird, because now we have a ton of free time.  5 teams ended at just about the same time.

At MZ, Ben finished his last game by shooting 9 for 9.  We are going to go ahead and call that a record for a 4 year old.

Drew finished his final game by draining his normal amount of shots and showing improvement as a rebounder.

And, a good portion of it was caught on tape for work which was the strangest circumstance of all.

Ben in the backseat

Ben: "Mom. What if I was setting a screen for Drew during the basketball game but you asked if I needed to go to the bathroom.  But then I said I was just setting a screen."

Who scored his very first two baskets today?

That would be Ben.  For the first time in a real game, he scored.  He quickly followed that up with another.  He is also, as almost the youngest kid in the league, pretty clearly the best dribbler since he is the only one that can do it without traveling or double dribbling repeatedly.  He is also an inveterate tongue chewer.  So that's nice to see.

Kate's checkup stats

Weight: 77.5 pounds - 80th%
Height: 57.5 inches - 97th%
Blood pressure - 98/56
Heart rate 84
